Last week it rained so hard in San Diego that the streets flooded. Really unfortunate news for people who struggled with water damage to their homes, my heart goes out to you…. BUT, amazing news for me because that meant we FINALLY got to ride! It was the first trip of the season for me and it was late but well worth the wait. It dumped throughout the weekend and on Monday and then it cleared up so we got sunny blue skies, fresh snow and no crowd at Big Bear. Midweek riding after a storm while everyone else is at work slaving away? Don’t mind if I do. Thank you California Government for blessing me with unemployment benefits at such a wonderful time of the year. This is the first of many snow shred trips this season with my homie Melissa who gets to call snowboarding her “off season training.” Jealous? I would be too.
