Here is a screenshot from some footy we filmed yesterday at heavenly with the go pro helmet cam. The video quality is pretty decent on these little cams but they came out with a new one that is HD so I definitely need to get on that. Plan to work on editing the footy later but enjoy the view for now….

glamour magazine - leticia killin it and lookin' smokin hot
Bet you didn’t think the two would ever go together. Well guess what you are WRONG. Check out this month’s issue of Glamour Magazine with a Secret deodorant ad in it featuring one of the most bad ass girl street skaters, Leticia Bufoni. I saw Leticia skate for the first time in 2007, fresh off the plane from Brazil competing in X Games at age 15, and she has been killin’ it since then. She was added to the Osiris team by Tony and I worked with her and photographer Ana Paula Negrao who took her under her wing to help her career these past couple of years. I helped Leticia get her work visa last year and now she is going to school at Hollywood High and shreddin’ the streets of LA. Most recently she won the Maloof Money Cup which is one of the biggest skate contests of the year.
So how in the hell did a secret deodorant ad come about? Well, William (Marketing at Osiris Shoes aka my office roommate) got an email from his buddy Dave at iPath who got an email from his buddy that read this:
“A friend is doing casting and they’re looking for a girl who can do tricks down a 5-stair. And she has to be attractive. Does this exist? Do you know of anyone?”
“does this exist?” is my favorite part. Well as a matter of fact yes she does exist and her name is Leticia. So after a handful of emails later, Leticia and Ana were off on a plane to New York and here is the finished product. The ad is of course real, the only thing is the heels are photoshopped. I mean skateboarding in heels is something that is definitely impossible unless you are cool with spraining both your ankles. She is boardsliding a handrail on a 5-stair in a pretty damn short dress with hair and make up intact which is pretty damn impressive. Anyhow, she is also featured on the Secret homepage. Just when we thought things couldn’t get crazier in China….we see this shoe at one of the shopping malls in Shanghai. I mean it’s one thing to knock stuff off but you would think they would at least get the brands right….maybe they sell more this way because you are getting two brands in one shoe…

Another pic from China. We really didn’t see many foreigners while we were there and when we did, they definitely stuck out, usually because they were taller than everyone else and didn’t have black hair. This lady stuck out because she looked like a mascot for Pepto Bismo. I mean, don’t get me wrong I like pink but this lady desperately needed some fashion direction.

Last summer at the US OPEN of surfing in Huntington Beach we saw all kinds of crazy shit. On one of the most hungover mornings ever, Annie and I were driving back to the pier to get to the skate contest and we saw this. I dunno if it was funnier than it should’ve been because we were still drunk or if it’s really just hilarious. Im going with the latter.

me stef and karen went to shanghai, china last month for x games asia. stef developed a fetish for little asian babies, she claims they are cuter than all other babies. I would have to agree with her in this case. this one’s name is “auwie” and she is the daughter of one of the japanese skaters. and yes, she is wearing a thrasher onesie. precious!
